The Australian F1 Grand Prix
Multiplatform copywritingProject Description
This project is a good example of the old communications adage ‘The medium is the message’. The Australian Grand Prix Corporation was promoting Formula 1 team Force India’s Main Straight Club. I needed to create content for the website, a promotional email as well as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, so I had to tweak it to suit the audience and the platform.
The Website
The web version focused on building excitement and promoting the benefits of the club. The copy is too small to read, but you can view a copy here or see the live version online.
The Email
The email targeted Melbourne’s Indian community specifically. This meant I could inject a patriotic call to arms into the copy without the risk of alienating other potential audiences.
The Facebook Post
For this version I tweaked the text for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Note the use of numbers as opposed to words like ‘2 for 1’.
This wouldn’t fit the brand image on the website or in an eDM, but is suitable for social media. This also makes it easier to read in the fast-paced and ephemeral world of micro-blogging.
